Product Description
Our sewing thread is made of high quality alkali-free glass fiber yarn produced by special process and PTFE coated. Processed fiber yarn are more smooth, soft, abrasion resistance, having better resistance to fold with high temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, high strength, and excellent properties.
PTFE coated fiberglass thread is made from continuous fiberglass filaments that are heat resistant, chemical resistant and strong. The fiberglass is also coated with PTFE finish to improve sewability and reduce friction. It can withstand operating temperatures up to around 1022°F (550ºC). Note: the PTFE coating burns away at 620°F (320ºC), while the fiberglass retains greater heat resistance.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum operating temperature for this thread?
The PTFE coated fiberglass sewing thread can withstand operating temperatures up to approximately 1022°F (550ºC).
Does the PTFE coating remain intact at high temperatures?
The PTFE coating begins to burn away at around 620°F (320ºC). However, the underlying fiberglass filament continues to provide structural integrity at higher temperatures.
What are the primary benefits of the PTFE coating?
The coating improves sewability by reducing friction, enhances abrasion resistance, and provides excellent chemical corrosion resistance.
Is this thread suitable for outdoor or chemical environments?
Yes, the combination of alkali-free glass fiber and PTFE provides excellent resistance to chemicals and environmental degradation.
What is the shrinkage rate of the JHBC series?
The thread features low shrinkage, typically less than 1%, ensuring stability in high-heat applications.
Can I request a specific color for the thread?
Yes, we can match colors to your specific product requirements, though light brown is the standard color for these heat-resistant materials.
